?1276. Located several miles south of the Pyramids at Giza, Abusir’s smaller pyramids mark the burials of forgotten kings and queens of the 5th dynasty. Here also is a cemetery of shaft tombs from the sixth century B.C., when the Persians invaded Egypt. Wild horses in the United States were once protected under the 1971 Wild Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Act, which declared "wild free-roaming horses and burros [to be] living symbols of the historic and pioneer spirit of the West."
